Our Story

Bean & Bread is a warm and welcoming coffee shop with two locations: one in the heart of Abergavenny and another in Rogerstone. Alongside our cafes, we also run our own bakery, where we craft delicious cakes for our cafes, surrounding businesses, and customers. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant coffee culture of New Zealand, our spaces are designed to bring people together over great coffee and food.

The café was born in 2018 when Jess, the owner, returned from her travels in New Zealand and wanted to create a space that reflected everything that inspired her. As a Kiwi coffee shop, we’re all about serving the best cup of coffee for our customers. Whether you enjoy a classic espresso, a filter coffee, or a seasonal favorite, our baristas are always on hand to chat about beans and ensure your coffee experience is a memorable one.

To complement our brew, we offer an all-day brunch menu. Our menu changes seasonally to keep things interesting, but you’ll always find a mix of classic favorites and innovative creations. 

In 2024, we expanded by opening our second location in Rogerstone, alongside our very own bakery. At the bakery, we craft delicious cakes not only for our cafes but also for surrounding cafes and customers to enjoy.

Our interiors are designed with a Scandinavian influence, creating a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The space is adorned with plants, adding a touch of greenery and a sense of tranquility. Whether you’re after a quiet spot to work or a place to catch up with friends, our relaxed ambiance makes it the perfect setting.
